It was so nice!
28 active participants, 98 1 vs. 1 matches, one winner, the youngest participant 18, the oldest 4.44 times as old, even matches, a professional game system, great prizes, two new membership applications for SG KTE e.V., fun and a fair fight for every ball.
We have done it.
The first table tennis tournament of the KIT/KTE association started on 05.05.25, punctually at 5.55pm, at 21.15 the 7th round of the Swiss system was played, which means that each participant had 7 matches at the table. With each round, the next pairing is calculated, so that as the tournament progresses, the opponents are matched more and more finely and the pairings become more and more balanced.
This has a nice advantage: everyone has the same number of games, the focus is on having fun and you soon find your champion.
The winner is Lenny, an active league player from TTC Langensteinbach e.V. with a fabulous 1811 QTTR points. He is currently ranked 26th in the Baden Table Tennis Association.
But it wasn't that simple, in order to win one of the coveted main prizes, Lenny had to defend himself against all of us. By drawing lots, everyone had the same chance of winning a one-point match against the winner with a serving advantage. After defending himself against numerous other players, Jianjun, Janick and Nico were ultimately able to take the main prizes.
I would like to thank the sports clubs KIT SG e.V. and Sportgruppe KTE-Karlsruhe e.V. for their support, and special thanks to Iwiza, Andreas and Sebastian who sacrificed their valuable free time for us so that we could play a nice game of table tennis. Many thanks to the great participants for the good mood they brought with them and the pleasure I had in organizing this wonderful first table tennis tournament of the KIT/KTE association. The challenge cup will be back soon. A little training and off we go.
All interested parties and members of the KIT and KTE sports groups are invited to attend the TT training sessions:
- Mondays 18:00 in Eggenstein Sports Center Hall B
- Thursdays 16:30 at FV Linkenheim in the gym
Greetings
